This quarter has not been good to me grade wise. It was mainly a combination of Schoology being kinda broken, and me not attending the live sessions until later, when the info was all but useless. The 3D clara.io has been presenting me with so many problems, I can't make a simple 3D snowman. I understand why it was set up the way it was, because we are going to be using 3Dmax when everything reopens, so you need to watch every 3Dmax video as well as the Clara guides and the ones that don't have Clara guides you have to find out for yourself. Another thing I have to deal with are the video editing assignments which you need adobe rush or pro, and they are a very big part of my grade. everything is all more complicated than it needs to be, for example some of the assignments are blocked off until you do the previous assignments. Today I was having some problems with the fluidity of motion assignment, but instead of working on something else while I try to fix it or wait for downloads, I couldn't because everything else in that section was blocked off, so I spent the entire day doing just fluidity of motion. I know it's my fault for missing when everything was do, but I didn't get to the live class where Mr. B said they aren't on the calendar, until a few days later. I am 3 points away from passing the class, and now with the way 4th quarter works i'm really trying to get to a 60 and pass the class. I really want to continue this pathway and I will try harder as time goes on.

let's talk about animation as a whole. I'm going to go over each tool we learned and give my thoughts about it, and the first one is Photoshop GIF format. I'm starting with this one first because it's the one I think is the worst, i mean it's good if you want to make a changing outline of something like a... random example, demon pelican. but other than that you need to animate every frame which is probably the worst thing about it, so its not good for long animations and animation wasn't it's first priority so yeah it's the worst. 2nd is adobe after effects this has a lot of similarities to Photoshop but it has the stopwatch which basically animates stuff on it's own. It's good for making like intros to YouTube videos but not actual character animations and things like that. Now the moment you've all been waiting for in the number 1 position is badadadadadada, wait for it adobe animate! what a surprise. adobe animate is the best because it was made to animate. It's in the name of the program! is has a way to animate it without animating every frame. and that's a keyframe. what it does is during the animation it moves things to fit the keyframe. It's very useful in animation and makes it go by way quicker than the other two tools on this list. the only problem is that it can't animate inside certain things so if you want something to move you have to have each different part that moves on a different frame and then convert them int symbols. so yeah that's my list for the top 3 animation tools that we learned I wonder if any of these placements will change as we learn more tools.
I will write about the stupidest, and most complex thing in the entire world, Adobe After Effects. I dislike it first off making the animation about my life was so complicated, there's frameworks and tween's, and so many other things that are just as complex. To animate a simple circle appearing and exploding you have to add the circle, then set two key-points one for the start of it appearing and one for it to disappear, then you have to add two key-points for it to get larger and you have to align those with the first two, and all of that you have just animated a small circle appearing getting larger then disappearing only once in the animation for less than a second. Its very hard to animate anything.
Adobe illustrator is an art tool, like Photoshop except it uses vector, which means that everything is just number, so you can zoom and enhance all that you like. I'm not good at Illustrator, i will be the first to admit that, but I do know how to use some of the tools. First there is the select tool and the direct select tool. the select tool lets you select something so you can edit it or move it, you can select multiple items with this tool, the direct select tool is kinda the same thing, but you select specific points of whatever your selecting. Then there is the shape tool, it creates shapes. that's kinda it, but the shape builder tool lets you combine and take parts out of shapes to create totally new ones. Finally (of the tools I know) there is the pen tool, this tool lets you create lines but they connect together to form shapes, you can also bend the lines but that's kinda complicated so I won't talk about it. whit a combination of these tools and more, you can make practically any kind of art.
As of starting digital design and animation this quarter I've learned some things about the class. it's fast as in we start a new section every week, but not insanely fast where you fall so far behind that you will never ever ever catch up, ever, and it's hard and unforgiving, especially grammar and spelling, I mean this is a digital design class! I get that when we need to code we need to get everything right but, all i'm saying is it's a bit unforgiving. I should know, because i have not done so well on the quizzes/tests and it's my fault for forgetting to study and retry them at home, but I think I'm doing well in the Photoshop portions of the class like our new project I think looks cool, and I haven't even put myself in there yet! No spoilers.
Lets recap, shall we?
Uncharted 4 is a game by naughty dog games, they are know for crash bandicoot and the last of us, both great games. Uncharted 4 matches those games, if not better. This is one of the greatest games I've ever played. The ending was amazing, it totally rapped up the story and left me satisfied. While the only real replay value was changing the difficulty which stiff felt awesome that was kinda it. Totally worth the money, would recommend it to others. The plot of the game made sense, it felt like it was connected to the other games, the climax was awesome, sword fight on a burning pirate ship full of treasure as you fight the main villain of the game. And after that was a nice surprise and a sweet ending. the story was engaging but not really multi-faced. The characters in the game had personality, they felt included in the story, they had depth, they felt like they could be real people. Dialog well written, great interactions with the villains. The story-line and the game play felt connected. The game play was great although it felt like you the player didn't have an impact on the story. Depending on you difficulty choice it could either be easy or challenging, and all you need is a good aim and puzzle solving skills. Really fun and it felt kinda like a real world, very logical. The graphics looked great, and it fit into the game, the characters movement felt great, the renders were recognizable and looked good, and the humans looked like, well humans! The background had good perspective, depth, and shadowing a light. It wasn't too dark or too bright, it looked real, and the animation was smooth and looked good. The music wasn't a big part of the game, if it was there it was quiet and non-noticeable, But the voice overs fit the characters and their mouths. The environment sounded good and realistic, but didn't feel intrusive or helpful, they were just there. The controls while different from most games but felt good, and the pause/start menu was user friendly. graphic were customization, the only inventory was a choice of two weapons and grenades, the map was a bit confusing but it was only really used in one sections so it wasn't that important, but no hints or anything like that. The game is only on PS4 so some people can't access it, there were subtitles and some written messages which looked good, and no spelling errors or anything like that. The game never crashed, while there were some dead ends usually there was a treasure in them so it felt rewarding. All in all 5 stars one of the best games I've ever played.
Photoshop is a great application to help you create and edit photos. But what did I learn about Photoshop, we started by learning the zoom tool, the hand tool and how to add an image, but people asked me for help end I help like because they weren't paying attention in class, I basically told them what Mr. B told them. Our net task was making a sandwich, we needed to open an image add images and probably the hardest part, layer masking. Some of the images had a white outline and to get rid of it all you needed to do was select the magic wand tool, select the white outline, then reverse it using Ctrl-Shift-I then you had to press q, and then again, well you did need to paint an outline but still just press q twice, and finally after all that you click the layer masking button and it was gone. I had trouble with this, I know several people did, but once you understood it it was easy. We also had to change the opacity of the photos, but that was less important. after the sandwich we changed the colors of a football player. In that photo we learned hot to crop, change the threshold of the image, adjust the colors, and duplicating layers, of a photo. The hardest part of this was the colors of the image because I kept ruining the background and had to restart. Other than that all I had to do was when people asked me for help I then asked "Did you read the instructions?" because a lot of the time the question was what do I do next. And that's it everything in Photoshop.
OK brief summary.
